Portrait Society of America Members Only Competition
The Members Only Competition, held annually, is open to all Portrait Society members in good standing. Each fall, up to five categories are offered and members can submit up to one artwork per category. All work must be your own original design and concept, created independently, completed in the last three years (since July 2012 for the 2015 Competition) and have never won an award in any previous art competition. Electronic/computer generated or altered artwork, work done in a class, workshop or under supervision is not eligible.

Each year the Members Only Competition varies the categories and subject matter. Participants are eligible to submit up to one entry
per category of their work for inclusion in the Members Only Competition. All work must be your own original design and concept,
created independently, completed in the last three years (since July 2012), and never won an award in any previous art competition.

- Outside the Box (Submit an innovative composition that stretches boundaries and presents a unique perspective
using traditional techniques and aesthetics) - Still-life (figure is optional)
- LandscapeAwards & RecognitionTop award winners will be chosen for each of the five categories. The First Place winners in each category will receive
Holding History, an exact museum quality reproduction of a John Singer Sargent palette along with a complimentary
video illustrating the path of the palette from Sargent's Tite Street studio in London to Everett Raymond Kinstler's
Studio in Connecticut. First Place winners will also be acknowledged in The Art of the Portrait section of
International Artist magazine. All winners will be recognized on the Portrait Society of America’s website and in the
Portrait Society’s The Art of the Portrait journal.Competition TimetableAll entries must be uploaded to our on-line entry form before midnight on November 12, 2015.
Plan to enter before that time as the server may be overloaded with last minute entries.Winners will be notified on December 10, 2015.CostParticipants can enter only one piece of their work in one or more subject categories. For example, an artist
may enter one work in the Still Life category and another work in the Commissioned Portrait category.
There is an entry fee of $35 per category (maximum of 1 entry per category). Entry is by
digital file and uploaded through the on-line entry form. The entry fee is non-refundable
and must accompany your submission.
